Time for a Little Chat
We’re talking about a sport that took baseball, basketball and handball threw them in one pot, mixed them up a little and you have one of the greatest sports around, volleyball. 6 players comprise a team; it requires mental concentration, athletic ability and is definitely a challenge for those who are competitive.
You’ll have a net between the teams – each team player is given a little bit of territory to protect. Pretty soon you’ll be own that territory and dare the opposing team to try to ground a ball in your space. You’ll learn to run, jump, slide and yell, because it’s that kind of sport.
It’s funny how that little piece of ground becomes yours; you get down right personal and pushy if the opposing team even thinks about landing the ball on your turf. In the meantime for those who hate regimented exercise or can’t stand the sight of a treadmill and hate running worse than a toothache – this is the sport for you.
Before you know it, your waste has lost a few inches and you’ve developed a tone to your body that most people would die for… Maybe some would refer to what I just said as reverse psychology, but it isn’t! It’s just the fact some of us are controlled literally 24/7 and it’s fun to mentally and physically get away from it all for a few hours.
There are some statistics that suggest 1 out of 6 people are becoming addicted to the game of volleyball worldwide. Another interesting tidbit is this – it’s becoming one of the more popular sports for all ages - schools are proud to say that one of the biggest events in sports is the volleyball festival in Reno, Nevada.
If you’ve been wondering how to shoo the kids out of the house, break them loose from the TV and computer games – now you know what to do. Spend a few dollars for a net and ball; it’s an inexpensive way to hang out with family members and fun for all.
